From Accra to Cape Coast on Foot: How Courage Walked 149KM to Inspire.In a world where many are afraid to chase dreams, one young Ghanaian decided to walk the talk, literally.
Courage founder of Undeniable Culture has
successfully completed a 5-day walk from Accra to Cape Coast, covering 149 kilometres and 229,682 steps on foot. But this is just the beginning.
According to him, Cape Coast is the starting point of his bigger vision dubbed “On Foot Ghana” a journey to walk across all 16 regions of Ghana.
“I decided to walk from Accra to Cape Coast because this journey is about something much bigger than just walking,” Courage told Windyhype.com “My goal is to challenge mindsets, inspire people, and hopefully change lives through the journey.”
The Journey: 5 Days, 149KM, One Vision
The determined young man walked along the Accra-Cape Coast road, passing through Kasoa, Winneba, Apam, Saltpond, Mankessim and Yamoransa before finally arriving in Cape Coast.What was supposed to be a day walk became a day and night journey from Day 3, making it even more challenging.
“In total, I recorded 229,682 steps and covered about 149 kilometres on foot. Every step was a reminder that a big dream is achieved one step at a time.” Courage told Windyhype.com
It wasn’t all smooth. On the second night, Courage suffered a severe cold from dust on the road and found himself in an area with no network.
“Being alone, feeling sick, exhausted, and not having network connection was mentally and physically difficult. That night taught me that sometimes the hardest moments are the ones that build the strongest version of you," Courage said.
The Kindness of Strangers
One of the best moments came on Day 4 at Manna Heights Hotel and Conference Centre. After days on the road, the hotel welcomed him with warmth, a shower, food, and a place to recharge.He also met incredible people who supported the journey including Becky Pearl of Manna Heights, Loretta Efya CEO of Greater Heights Events, the team at Tipsy’s Kitchen, Father Dominic Eshun, and Justice Kwakye, his host in Cape Coast.
“What touched me the most was the kindness of ordinary people I met on the road. Although I may have been walking alone, I was never truly alone," Courage told Windyhype.com
His Message To The Ghanaian Youth
“Don’t be afraid of the crazy ideas in your head. Sometimes we have ideas that seem impossible, but you shouldn’t kill a dream simply because other people don’t understand it. Start. Try. Fail if you have to. Start over again. Take the first step. The journey will teach you the resaid," Courage said.
Courage is now preparing for the next phase of On Foot Ghana — 16 regions, one journey.
