If you want to start your New Year with colour, celebration, and pure energy, there is only one place to be on 1st January, Winneba . While everybody is still sleeping after 31st Night, Winneba is already awake. Drums, brass band, costumes, masks. This is the Winneba Masquerade Festival, locally called Fancy Dress. It is the first major festival in Ghana every year. And it is the second biggest festival in Winneba after Aboakyer. There is a morning in Winneba that does not feel like any other morning in Ghana. By 7am, you can hear it. The brass band far away. The drum, shouting and the crowd. If you are in Winneba on that day, you cannot stay in your room. The sound will drag you out. I remember the first time I followed the sound. I thought something had happened. I thought maybe there was a funeral. But when I reached the road, I saw something I had never seen before. Man Arrested With Cocaine At K.I.A

Mr Solomon Stanley Eyo, The Director of Enforcement at the Narcotics Control Commission, has revealed how an unnamed man was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport.

MAN ARRESTED WITH COCAINE AT K.I.A

Mr Eyo spoke on how Ghana is infected with drug lords and barons and how they are tarnishing the good image of the country.

Also, the director revealed how the man traveling with his wife and children was arrested but the family had no idea their father was a drug dealer.

"There are cases where these drug barons don't let their children know what they are doing. Some wives don't know what their husbands are doing. I remember there was a time when a husband, wife and children were traveling to the States and the husband was arrested with drugs in his luggage.

"When he was arrested do you know what he said? He knelt down pleading with us to ask the wife for forgiveness for what he has done. he wasn't bothered about the arrest," Mr Eyo said.

He added "The wife never knew what he was doing and that is very wicked he was doing and that is very wicked. Precious lives being lost. I am not a woman but i have two sons and i know how painful it is".
